Animal Adoptions

Specks Satellite adoptions:

The Hendricks County Humane Society hosts rescues and shelters to show their adoptable pets at Specks Pet Supply in Avon. The pets can be seen every 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month from 11:00 - 3:00. Currently, a local no-kill shelter called ARK has been bringing their dogs and cats to be seen by potential adopters. Other rescues like Indy Homes for Huskies and Humane Solutions show their adoptable dogs and cats. In the past, the Hendricks County shelter (animal control), has sent kittens and puppies to show at Specks. Now the kittens remain at Specks everyday. If puppies are available, then they will be taken to Specks to show. The HCHS volunteers are always there to provide consulting on breed specific information, pet behavior and community issues.

Adoption Days:

Every September, HCHS invites rescues and shelters to show their dogs. Groups like GRRACE, Grey hound rescue, ECHO (White German Shepard rescue), IHH (Indy Homes for Huskies), Jericho, ARK and Humane Solutions are some of the participants. The September adoptions are at the Avon Heritage Festival in Avon Park.
