The Hendricks County Humane Society is a non-sheltered society, meaning we do not run an animal shelter.*<br>
We are a not-for-profit organization which receives no tax money. All our programs are funded through donations, grants, memberships and fundraising events. Donations are tax deductible. <br>
We are a voice for animals. Although we do not have an animal shelter, we have been taking an active role in advocating for animal issues in our community since we started over 25 years ago. We continue to encourage our county officials to build a bigger, better animal shelter, recently hiring an architect with shelter experience to critique the present plans they are considering. We speak out on local animal issues in the media or with county officials when the needs arise. <br>
Please plan to visit often as we will continue to add to this site with more information about our acuities for animals in Hendricks County.<br>
*(Hendricks County does have an animal shelter which is run by our county government)</font></p>
